Online Christmas
Looks like a lot of this Christmas is going to have to be more online than ever. Not just Christmas shopping but potentially Christmas get togethers will be online.
One thing we can do is to make our Christmas as environmentally friendly as possible.
Eco Friendly Gift Wrapping
How about starting by looking for some eco-friendly wrapping?
Secure your parcels with string instead of using sellotape. Tie the string in bows so it can be untied easily and re-used.
As an alternative to string you could use pretty ribbon.
This site and post may contain affiliate links from Amazon, Bluehost, Grammarly, Zazzle, WordPress, Shutterstock, Society6, Teepublic, Redbubble and if you click on a link and purchase a product from that website I will earn a small fee (which will go towards getting me Out of the Office!)
If ribbon is too fiddly for you, it’s now possible to buy eco-friendly sticky tape which purports to be fully recyclable.
Of course, once you’ve worked out how to fasten your presents your going to need paper. Wrapping with good old newspaper is easy and can look surprisingly attractive.
Alternatively you could get yourself some rolls of eco friendly brown paper.
You could always make it look more attractive by drawing a personalised and seasonal design on it.
Or you could buy some eco-friendly gift paper.
Or how about going the whole hog and buying this collection which includes crackers, cards, wrapping paper, gift tags and gift boxes – all made from recycled material.
It all looks so natural that your friends are bound to be shocked into action and will surely follow your lead next year and ensure all their presents are packaged as sustainably as yours!
Tom Smith also make eco-friendly Christmas crackers.
… as do other companies:
So start your sustainable Christmas early and get wrapping! Just one word of caution – even if it says ‘recyclable’ make sure your local facilities WILL recycle it!
